You'll be fine as long as you don't keep them open, they come with rubber protectors on the small motor. Another option is to take them off in the wet weather, it's actually very easy & fast to bolt them on & off the pipe & close up the dump pipe with the top that comes with it. All it is is screwing & unscrewing dude.

I live in south Louisiana and would love to put a set on my 72 chevelle. But I was concerned about them staying closed for long periods of time in this wet nasty weather, seeing as how I won't run them open very often.
