The top speed run sounded like a f*ing fighter jet flying by.

it's actually dry track. (says so on the bottom right of the screen when the car takes off)

yeah it would be awesome, especially to see how to cars designed with completely opposite philosophies, compare to each other. The guy who designed the McLaren wrote a few articles in Motor Trend about the Veyron and came to respect it. I once read if a Veyron took off when a McLaren passes it doing 120, the Veyron will beat it to 200.

man I would love to see a race between bugatti veyron and Mclaren f1 . even though bugatti is faster but still it'll be a good race

That's what I've always thought too, it just looks so soft. They say it rides very comfortably on most road surfaces, this is where adjustability would come in useful.

more like 16 to 1700 pounds, a 1000 pound ae86 is not likely!

you can see how rarely he used full throttle..
FdSnakeEater (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
thats because the ae86 ur talkin about is a full gutted race car weighing just a little over 1000 pounds running on racing slick tires in dry conditions. This McLaren F1 however is still in full street trim and running on crappy street tires that dont grip like racing slicks. That plus the track conditions are wet thus the 1'04" time. Still pretty fast for wet on Tsukuba. |
