Am I correct: When this song came out... I've always assumed that it was a song about a Seal?

This song brings back a lot of memories! Hanging around with my friend back in the 70's. His cat was named Shannon. The cat passed away in the late 70's & my friend passed away in the early 80's. (In his 20's)I feel sad every time I here this song.

Sorry about your dog. I know how you feel. Mine died in July. She was 10. I had her since she was 5 weeks old. This song has me in tears.

Hey Ric.....it's Theresa. I wrote a comment a month or 2 ago.....haven't listened to the song since but got a feeling I needed to send it to a friend. It's great.....brings tears to my eyes and for me that's not easy to do......it appears you are getting great reviews. Thank you AGAIN for sharing. Theresa

RicBNH His first single release on the label, Shannon, a song written about the passing of Beach Boy Carl Wilson's Irish Setter of the same name went gold and became a worldwide hit. Sales of the album called "Release" were big and the second single, "Springtime Mama", sold just short of gold. |
