well I can tell you that if you do get an LS1, the Corvette has a drive by wire throttle so you will have to get the throttle body off of a camaro. I would suggest the crate engine that chevy offers...that seems so much easier. Plus they are quite small in outer dimensions when compared to DOHC V8s so they fit easy. I want to put one in an Audi with quattro all wheel drive.

Thanks for the info man... See I live in southern california and we have more laws on everything than most other states and I was thinking of doing a RB swap to a s14 240sx and I keep seeing all these LS1 swap jobs into these cars and would much rather go that route

I wouldn't see any issues. I have a Corvette Z06 with the LS6 engine (higher compression LS1 with a few other tweaks) and it doesn't come anywhere close to the limit of the local smog place. Plus in some states you could register it as a kit car or something like that and get around smog since it is low production. (that is how noble gets around regulations)
