You are right, died at the track. However, The turns have always had the same degree of banking since the track was opened in 1909.

I found this vintage video footage clip rivoting for its quality & for the a glimpse of the emergency vehicals. These guys are the state of the art emergency equipment of that time line. Respect is manditory for all who post comments regarding loss of life. It's no joke !
