Not according to the Clintoniacs and the fan-boys and fan-girls of the Priest-King Obama! They'd have you believe that in the 1990s all the world loved America. They like to conveniently forget the 1999 LAX bomb plot, the 1998 attacks on the US embassies, the 1993 WTC bombing, etc.And to micromused - I guess you have the right to criticize everything that comes out of America, considering you come from the Land of Vegemite.

honestly, without discrediting the compleat validity of your statement, i beleive calling the US fascist, based on the global conotations around that term, is a bit off mark. most likely, the reason society has built the opinion that the US is some eppidamy of greatness is based on our general succes as a young country. but, whatever the reason, it happens. Though comparing it to fascisim might work, in reality, though maby not intended, its simply going to piss people off.
