Atheism is the lack of belief in a God, it is not a positive belief, it is response to a positive belief. It is not a religion.Atheists don't say anything about how the universe came to be, cosmologists do. Atheist believe in the big bang because they are rational.Atheism and agnosticism are not mutually excusive, neither is Atheism and religion. for example, I am an irreligious agnostic atheist, wheras a Raelian is a religious gnostic atheist.

Athiests would have more credibility if they gave some REAL explanation as to how everything, the universe etc came into place.Whether you your religion is Christianity, Islam, Judism or Athiesm you have to believe a story of how we got here and how everything came into place.Life, the universe etc are amazing and complex so it is logical to expect there to be an amazing complex way we came about.Athiests used to believe the earth was flat, they are always wrong.

Athiesm IS a religion.The root meaning of the word religion is "belief" or "conclusion"Athiests believe the BS fairytale that there was a big explosion (big bang) then everything just mysteriously fell into place, the particles became soil/water, turned into a rock which fell into the sea and became a fish which jumped onto land and became a penguin which turned into a monkey then became human...whatever!Give me a break!The only people who aren't religious are agnostics.
