Being in a Budweiser fueled haze, dancing with chicks in a drug induced daze, that was the phase, we were in when we in back in the days, of the dance craze

I live on Long Island (Nassau County)too and have this on tape somewhere, but it was recorded from the radio. Really brings back memories.

Hey Shipmate; The Main Event on Colley Ave in Norfolk Virginia? If that be the place, I lived in that club while I was in the Navy, that place was fun, I partied there back in 1982, we had a DJ there named CAPTAIN 85, then we would go to the Big Apple down by Military Circle, great times, the Main Event is now a restaurant, I drove by when I went to "C" School in DamNeck around 2001. ETC(SW)ret.

The groove on this record is amazing but what I love best is the little synth jabs and fills - that another human being could know to put those fills into that groove...that they BELONGED there is UTTERLY breathtaking.

This song takes me way back to the MAIN EVENT night club in Norfolk, VA. When DJ Heart Attack put on this joint, the crowd would bum rush the floor. To this day this is my favorite dance cut of all time. The Neckwork was the dance of the day and folks would almost break their necks doing it during the break beat. GREAT TIME, GREAT MUSIC AND I WAS A GREAT DANCER!!! Lastly, my daughter has taken a liking to house music and that makes me happy. |
