FIND OUT WHO WINDS, ZO6 OR GT500KR: http://www.edmunds.com/insidel... looking at the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR and 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but we're imagining a '68 Shelby GT500KR staging next to a Corvette with one of the 427-cubic-inch V8s on the Connecting Highway in Queens, New York, probably sometime during the Nixon administration. We don't know how the cars are tuned or which driver has the better hole-shot technique, but we're calling our street race in favor of the Vette. You see, there's no historical basis for a close Corvette-Mustang rivalry. A Corvette of any year is a little too fast and smart to be street racing ratty muscle cars. It's a real sports car, the kind of car that's still fun when you start going around corners. But maybe it's a different story with this 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR and 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Each of these rear-wheel-drive coupes has a V8 rated for more than 500 horsepower at the flywheel. And with the release of the limited-edition 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR, Ford has moved in on Chevrolet's price territory. The GT500KR leaves the Ford factory as a $46,730 GT500 coupe and is shipped as a rolling chassis to Carroll Shelby's facility near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada. By the time the KR cruises out of Shelby's shop, it's an $82,395 Mustang. As such, the King-of-the-Road Mustang must now contend with this $76,920 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. And though the Z06 is a few horsepower shy of the upcoming ZR1, it's not an easy mark. The GT500KR will have to play like a sports car just to keep up.

haha incase u didnt read my comm. properly the tbars on a tbar truck is not the lowest point ultimate GC is acheived by tire size thus makin tbars irrelevant. oh and yea it seems impossible right? thats what the guy drivin the ford thought too. and my buddy wit an fx4 and 35s cant hang wit the chevy either. once again the video doesnt have any trucks in it jus a chevy spankim another ford

...not in a laying rubber contest. a blower V8 at 5 or 6 grand and howling tires is a feeling that beats any cyclone. magazines forgot to mention that too. but ohhhh it's sure important when it's a tri-5 chevy with a weiand blower, huh? Ford's offering that out of the box and now your magazines are minimizing it. told you it's the gm media that's turning these kids into total hammerheads

This doesn't really come as a suprise to me that the corvette is better. I love both cars but the mustangs biggest flaw is it's weight.

Clearance is important in an off-road vehicle. mabey you'll take the coils off a yamaha raptor 700 and lower the frame and fab tbars 2in from the ground, m? 'the new chevy raptor, built to take 1 jump before the whole fkn thing flies apart!' perhaps you should put down yer chevy-biased magazine and quit listening to yer stupid bob seager song for a day and listen to a guy like caveman that actually knows what he's talking about. - like a crock

Yikes fitty your so full of chevy biased magazine shit. i suppose your talking about a V6 f150, I highly doubt you'd beat a 5.4 stock. and i don't underestimate 5.3's either i like'm better than gutless-choppy 350's your magazines hype the shit out of. if your stupid torsion bars are so good, why are they all going to coils now? looks like ford knew something for decades that gm's just figuring out now. at least toyota mounted tbars on the upper a arms. toyota and ford know that ground clearanc

bolt turns tires that weigh 100lbs/tire not to mention the 20" rims with no problem so good in fact that i can outrun a completely stock 2x4 f150 to 60mph that with 400lbs of tires roughly another 200lbs of 4x4 parts that is what makes your f150 a peice of shit it has no power no throttle response and poor gas mileage and thats some of the better problems. chevrolet makes the fastest production car for the cheapest price simple as that doesnt matter what you compare it to
