Townes gets all the credit for writing this awesome song but I think I like it sung by Willie Nelson better.

Bob Dylan and Townes are very different. I don't think that one is better than the other. Dylan's influences come from Woody Guthry and the folk music tradition. Townes' influences come from Hank Williams and the Delta blues. Townes most effective songs come from the inside out to express hos own terrible inner feelings.

Hey Hips,I'm embarrased to say,I just saw your reply, because I have this channel on a e mail acct. I check less often. I knew O'Connor was a big sessionist, but didn't know the whole line-up of Dregs,& may not have recognized him anyway on stuff from when he much younger, though I was able to here. I knew Steve Morse was in them at 1 point. Some of my friends were Dregs finatics,in early 80's. I'll have to research them more. I did see a great clip of them on y.tube already. Your info was useful.
