Wow, I can't believe I didn't put 2+2 together, Madonna's Vogue video was totally inspired by this video. I remember "certain" clubs showing this video during the house music daze. Ah, interesting tymes.

Thank you for having this video on here. God Bless Willie Ninja RIP. He was the first Mother of the House of Ninja and good luck to Xavier Willies protege. While Willie Ninja is the creator/originator of vouging it is Xavier Ninja who is the greatest vouger in the world check him out and see this double jointed amazing dancer. Some of the moves you will just stand there and think "HOW did he do THAT???" LOOK FOR Father Almighty Willi Ninja and the House of Ninja and wittness greatness

Even her filthy sex book was a rip-off. She stole the idea from Judith Regan.

i totally back you up on this one. the only reason people claimed to think that madonna thought that she invented vogue is becase this is madonna, she released Vogue as a mainstream audience. it seemed as if she invented it because she is MADONNA if madonna had sex on a stage before we know what it was, we would think that she invented it because of her celebrity and her MAINSTREAM SUCCESS. SHE IS MAINSTREAM THEREFOR SHE IS CREDITED FOR THE MAJORITY OF THINGS SHE DOES.

Thank you for posting this video. This is a great song. Have always liked it. I saw this performed at the Palladium in Hollywood, many years ago.

Just to defend Madonna a bit here... Madonna NEVER claimed to have invented Vogueing, whether it be the dance or the culture itself. She repeatedly acknowledged in TV interviews and magazines from the 90s that it she was introduced to it in gay/underground clubs. The song Vogue itself was originally meant to be a B-side to a single from Like A Prayer, it was never intended to be a huge hit and she never set out to "steal" the concept and make it her signature. |
