Check out my San Juan mountain videos...you should do the Alpine Loop (Engineer and Cinnamon), Ophir, Imogene, Last Dollar Road, Corkscrew, Hurricane Pass, California Gulch, Owl Creek Pass, Stony Pass, Animas Forks...everything going out of Silverton is amazing, you can't go wrong.

Hey there, you don't need a 4x4 to get to Animas forks from Silverton. You can take the highway to Silverton and then take the dirt road to Animas Forks. It's only rough AFTER Animas Forks, because it's the beginning of several 4x4 roads such as Cinnamon and Engineeer. But you can get to Animas Forks just fine in a passenger car! |
