As for the lap being "clean" I believe the car has manual steering and little to no abs type system. So putting down 408 lb-ft with manual steering... it going to be a little squirrely.

Wow absolutely amazing, its actually the first time Ive see the "yellowbird" going round the ring, what brilliant driver control, Ive read the previous comments about it not being a great lap but this is a car thats 21 years old!! Im only 22 myself, this car is Ledgend and if you cant see why or you dont agree then your are simply wrong, dont compare it to 996's or M3's compare it to ferrari 328's, BMW E30's and the Lamborghini countach then realise how amazing this car was and still is!!

We all know the yellowbird can fly .... but still there is a lot of respect for the driver .... that thing, even being a RUF, still is an '87 car with '87 technology ... probably some early ABS system, wham bam boost control and '87 tires tech ....I'm no expert but that's got to count .... We know the new recent wondercars can do it in faster times ... but some of those cars have eons of more technology than the RUF Yellowbird ....

This was a RUF promotional video. Rouser could have driven the car around in less spectacular fashion as to set a better time, however the point of the video was to impress fat cats with money to burn, not set fastest laps...

To be honest, I don't care who it is. 8:25 is not fast around the Ring in a 490HP car. You can see how unclean the lap is, however exciting it might be to some. He over drives the car and that is my primary comment. He would be faster without the drama...He will get his butt kicked by wuite a few cars with less HP at the ring. Sorry too say, but true and I am a 911 supporter.

Check out my video of the only CTR in North America.

Fair comment. I still think that they guy has got good driving skill, which I think no-one can doubt. Regarding your Tech Art Twin Turbo, which model is it? Because the car in the video is more likely to be lighter than it, therefore more BHP per tonne. Also, I just don't like the M3 :) |
